NITR exists to bridge the gap between education, skills and livelihoods. The institute does this by delivering technical and vocational training aligned with labour-market demand, promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment, supporting transition to work through practical training and enterprise attachment, and contributing to programme quality through continuous learning, institutional improvement and applied research. This positioning is particularly important in Somalia, where job creation, resilience and private-sector-led growth are now central national priorities.
