NITTR exists to close the gap between education, skills and livelihoods. It works toward this in four connected ways: delivering technical and vocational training aligned with what employers in Somalia are actually hiring for; supporting entrepreneurship and self-employment for graduates who will not find a wage job waiting for them; helping trainees move into work through enterprise attachment and structured placement support; and feeding lessons from its own training delivery back into how future courses are designed. That last point matters more in Somalia than it might elsewhere. With job creation, resilience and private-sector growth now central to national recovery, an institute that does not adjust its courses as the market shifts becomes irrelevant quickly.
